In comes “Malena Adventures” to save the day!
It was a just little over a month before my dream wedding to my dream man, and I thought for sure that all the pieces were coming together perfectly. But wait — we still haven’t booked our dream honeymoon!!! Anxiety set in. Although my now husband and I have previously visited a number of pretty amazing travel destinations in the past, we were looking to trump those experiences with something unique and purely magical for our first official voyage as husband and wife.
In comes Malena Adventures to save the day! We dealt directly with Suzy, who expertly demystified sea travel in Croatia and helped us design a honeymoon that fit our timeframe and budget. From the initial conversation, she put us at ease with her firsthand knowledge and experience of the country and its local customs. Communication was consistently timely, and her down to earth demeanor made it easy for us to ask any and all of our pressing questions (since we had never sailed before other than on a cruise ship). Sea travel was suddenly accessible and attainable, whereas if we went at it alone, it would have been much more challenging to plot our course. She enabled us to quickly realize that sailing was the absolute best way to see the many beautiful islands that Croatia has to offer especially in a short amount of time. It was a no-brainer at that point since we only had a week to spend. Shortly, the honeymoon was booked, and we couldn’t have been more pleased!
With Suzy’s help, we chartered the Bavaria36 and paired with an expert skipper. Out of Split, we sailed to Bol, Vis, Hvar, and Solta. The country is chock full of natural beauty that we truly enjoyed from an up close and personal lens! Each island offered something different to marvel at whether it is the historical limestone structures, lavender fields, spectacular turquoise beaches, blue and green caves, gorgeous vistas atop a former prison, quaint ports full of colorful boats, friendly people, and the delicious food and wine. From start to finish, Suzy weaved adventure, exploration, relaxation, and even some romance into our itinerary. We felt that she has an excellent ability to be in tune with our needs every step of the way and guided our the course in the high seas. We are teeming with fantastic memories from our honeymoon and cannot wait to return!
