Climate & Weather in Croatia on the Coast

The coast has a typically Mediterranean climate consisting of hot, dry, sunny weather during summer, and
relatively mild – though sometimes wet – weather in winter.

Average temperatures during summer should lie in the mid-to-high 20s °C/77-86°F, although it is more
likely that you’ll have temperatures well into the 30s °C/high 80s or low 90s °F.

In general, however, during autumn and winter on the coast, you will still experience some sunny days,
although it can sometimes get quite rainy.

Low Season (Nov–Apr)
Winters in coastal Croatia are chillier and prices are lower. Christmas brings a buzz to Zagreb’s
streets, even with the snow.

Mid Season (May, Sept & Oct)
The coast is gorgeous, the Adriatic is warm enough for swimming, the crowds are sparser and
prices are lower. In spring and early summer, the steady maestral wind makes sailing great.

High Season (June, Jul & Aug)
Peak season brings the best weather. Hvar Island gets the most sun, followed by Split, Korčula
Island and Dubrovnik. Prices are at their highest and coastal destinations at their busiest.
